Reverse light switch 1998 A4 20v

Hi People!,
Can someone tell me where the reverse light switch is located on a 1998 20v A4. Trying to help a mate who has no reverse lights!

it'll be on the tranny itself.

IIRC theres a small wiring harness on the nearside of the box, one branch goes to the speed sensor, the other to the reverse switch.
