S4- rubbish shift?

Hi,

I've had my S4 B5 for a week or so now and love it but the main quibble is the shift quality which isn't good when compared to my last car (BMW), it feels a bit like a cable shift from a mk2 golf......are these cable shift too?

Is this usual? Ie long throw and a bit too much like stirring paint!

Will a quickshift sort this or improve it and make it feel more "mechanical"?

A quick shift will certainly reduce the throw and if you get one that replaces the stock rubber bushes with nylon it will most definately feel more mechnical.
