Dead Pixel Repair is it this simple?

    saw this on eBay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...E:B:SS:GB:1123

    it says
"This manual will show you step by step how to remove the unit, fix it and replace. It should take you about 1 hour (or less).
All you need is a screwdriver, no other tools or technical knowledge is required.
    "

cant be this simple can it? i do recall that on the A3 forum someone IIRC recommended to heat the DIS connections. however it had mixed reviews and experiances

It's the same from what i've read on other forum posts. Wedge cardboard behind the ribbon cable and screen.

fwiw I took mine to bits and tried the ebay type repair, wedging some fine strips behind the ribbon cable - it made it better, but mine also suffered from fading in heat, so in the end bit the bullet and got it replaced by Clusterrepairsuk.co.uk - for about Ł100 all in as i recall. fully functioning, guaranteed and tested..

Mine done by Cluster repair ( but it was Ł160 not about Ł100 !! )
Again fading as it warmed up and after an hour or so you couldn't see anything + pixel problems.
It took them 1 hr 20 mins, while I waited ( actually she spent about Ł60 in Debenhams and about Ł8 for a couple of coffees + cake..... while we waited ) and they are use to doing it.
Reckon an hour is a bit optimisic....
