Heated mirrors not working?

Can anyone help? i just noticed heated mirrors aint workin , have checked the fuse box (after a ****** hunt for the thing as AUDI say its on the left ! but its actually on the right!!) fuse aint poped so am at a stumbling block all sujestions are welcome /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/froggie_red.gif,

if you have a multimeter couple of easy checks,
one check the voltage supply to the glass
two check the resistance accross the mirror glass

normally the mirror glasses tho

don't they only turn on below a certain temp?!

in my manual it just says they're only on when ignition is on! useless manual!

They are prone to burn out, its a crap design.

They come on when the temp goes below 5c its why there all burnt out, mine was the same, it means every time you start the car, regardless of whether there iced or fogged.

You can check whether they are on or off using VAG-COM, and if it says they are ON, and are not hot, the problem is clear.

i had to replace both of my ghlasses as they had burnt out.
mine coem on with the rear heater.

got them from audi, they werent that expensive.
just replace the glass, fairly easy to do /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
