Facelift Avant Ariel Adaptor?

The radio in the old car just has the ariel jammed into the back of the head unit, but i'm wondering if i should have one of those little splicey things that feeds 12v into the antenna wire, when i'm fitting it to the new car?

IIRC the aerial amp is part of the bee sting on the Avant. So you may need to stick 12V to it from the amp remote or similar

ye, i did wonder, the old cars never had it but that might explain the slightly sketchy reception!
