when in a fast sweeping bend the rear of my car feels unstable (worn bushes)?

worn bushes, alignment, rear tie bar/upright bent.
remarkably soft and bendy if you have ever had a knock or kerb or pot hole

Bushes then alignment would be my estimation, i made a different car out of mine by just getting the alignment done. Only one wheel out of the 4 was in spec....

Most B5's will be in need of a new set of bushes all round, simply due to their age, So i'd be tempted to throw a set of bushes at it and get the alignment done.

Would probably be worth doing the front arms too.

would you suggest uprated(poly bushes) or oe rubber? i don't want to hear loads of road noise!

OE rubber, too many unknown side effects with the poly bushes imo.
