my 2.8 quattro has just started to develop a small oil leak from the valve cover gaskets, where apart from main dealer would be best place to get some replacements from.

and any idea how much they roughly to be and how hard a job is it to do?

just replaced my rockercover gasket on passenger side but oil smoke still rising from manifold after a run. have also replaced all the breathers, anything else that leaks on back of rocker cover?

The root of the problem is probably fixed. What could be happening (and what happened on mine when I replaced the gasket) is the old oil is still dripping onto the manifold. Give the general area a good spraying of de-greaser then jetwash the area/engine and see if it still does it. Failing that there is the cam chain tensioner gasket (half moon shaped) in the same location. I reckon I good clean should cure it though.....Good luck!
