whats a a4/s4 shell worth?

I remember a friend in the s\h car parts business saying that a scrappie valued a car on the basis of how much they could sell the engine and gearbox for. Everything else they could sell off it was seen as a bonus. So next to nothing would be my guess!

if your talking scrap value, it depends if you can get it to the yard yourself.
Problem is it makes sense to remove the suspension and subframes etc, as they can be sold on, giving you an immovable lump of metal thats not particularly heavy.
Scrap steel will get around £100 a ton at the moment, but unless you can get it to the yard, then your looking at either someone with a hiab collecting it for nothing, or you having to pay to get it taken away. If you can stack the shell full of scrap steel you'll be more likely to fall into the "free" category.

^^ nice, its gone up a bit then. You'll still struggle to get any money for it if your having someone collect it.
I phoned around trying to get someone to pick up a discovery shell last week, and most of the yards basically said "we dont collect shells, theres no weight in them and they're not worth it". One of the yards put me onto a local guy with a HIAB and said to ask him if he can do it, but that he might charge for it. The guy came round and picked it up for nothing.
Clearly had i had the means to get the shell onto a trailer and to the yard, i'd have probably got £100 or more.

ring around, first place i tried said they'd collect but wouldnt give me anything, then tried another who said £160 per ton and they collected same day
after filling with a bit more scrap metal i got £92
