My 2,8 V6 quattro, has developed a stutter small almost missfire when pootling around town in a highish gear, seams to need a good rev / blast to clear it. I dont remember it doing this before. Any one know if this is normal or is something breaking down.

Hows the spark plugs etc?
When you say "highish gear" what do you mean? Its not really good for the engine to be driving around town in 5th doing 30mph, its not burning petrol very efficiently and just gets all coked up...
