whats a drive shaft boot? and how much to replace

mine is torn /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif, any one knows a rough price it will cost? and what does it do?

also known as cv boot, had too change both of mine for last MOT, takes quite a while as have too remove quite a lot of stuff.

i would say roughly about an hour, an hour and a half work each side, in a shop, for a trained tech. the boot repair kit...can;t remember, but affordable.

had too remove the wheel, shock, brakes, hub.
pain in the ****, but has to be done, nothing you cant do yourself, just requires patience.

great news, thanks for the replies /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif having h&r springs/Bilstein shocks put in so will let them do it at same time.

Then mot hassle over till next year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
