Dont mean to pi$$ on your parade Twiggy but those dont look like "RS4 brushed aluminium" mirrors mate, hope thats not what seller led you to believe???

As for fitting, grilles straight forward enuff, just some clips that hold it in, you'll see when you lift the bonnet As for mirrors, screws on the bottom in the black section to be removed, flip the mirrors out with care not to damage them, then theres 3 screws in the housing if i remember correctly to release the actual casing, never took the complete unit off so cant guide you further than that but dont imagine to be much if your changing complete units over.

no worries mate, my parade has been pissed on lol the boys on SRS have put me straight that these are not the brushed ally mirrors, not happy about it as i was led to believe they were but to hell with it now, i have them so shall put them on. GUTTED!!!!

only reason i wanted the ally ones is that im a snob and wanted the real deal

    Understand mate! Thats $hit then!

Can you not contact seller and discuss this with him, maybe retrieve some cash??? No idea wot costs involved but i imagine he asked for a decent amount if sold them as RS specific units, usually 300 odd from Audi each IIRC. Its noticable cos the shine and reflection off yours are too much, the brushed ally type dont reflect like that, pretty much a very dull finish, will match the grill surround to give you an idea.

Still, theyre not like chrome so not all bad, hope you can sort sumthin with seller if you can mate. Will look good when fitted no doubt.

They will be the optional S4 chrome mirrors. I used to have some fitted but thought they looked a bit more dated than the brushed Alu ones. I've currently got plastic ones painted up to look like brushed Alu.

Still, reckon the chrome ones will suit the Noggy Blue much better. Give them a go. It's only a 5 minute job to swap the mirror covers over. How much did you pay for them out of interest?

If these are the same as the VW ones then you should have two small screws under the mirror on the black plastic bit. then the rest just pulls upwards and off. might need to give it a tug. but be careful you don't snap the clips holding them in place.

They're not. There are two screws on the underside. Remove these and pull down the bottom plastic cover. This will allow you to poke the glass out from the inside. Once you've done that, there are 3 screws holding the mirror cap to the mechanism. Remove those and the heating element wires (these can be a right bugger to get off) and then the plastic unit will slide upwards.

Grant you can dull down the chrome with the use of ultra fine wet & dry sand paper and some wire wool to achieve the alloy look.

im afraid its one of those things lads but i dont mind too much as they look good on the car and im happy with them. they are not the cheap plastic chrome things you can get from the bay, these are ally mirrors so they aint chrome and not matt finish, in between the both but i like them,, need to put my S4 badge on my RS4 grill now though.
