changed from 1.8se to 1.9tdi

Just changed my A4 from a N reg 1.8se to a R reg 1.9TDi. Thanks to all who gave me some advice to bin my old car, even compared to my TDi it was slugish. I'm really pleased with it especially the cruise control, never used one before what a great device. The only minor problem I have with it is the on board computer screen, (which tells you basically everything from a bulb out to how many miles you have left from your tank) is faded and bity!! Has anynoe had there's replaced or fixed? If so how much am I roughly looking at?

Apart from that she's lovely and I can see me keeping her for a while.

The drivers' information display (DID)... hmmm...

Very common fault. Mine is ok for the first 10 miles of the day, but once the car is warm (or the dashboard), I cannot see anything. Now, Audi will charge you about £850 for it fitting - which I think is a tad expensive.

Apparently you can get the actual LCD part for about £100 + VAT, saw something on a website (sorry can't remember where), but I can imagine it to be a ball-ache to install.

yeah mine dims when it warms up, after about 15 mins you cant read it atall.
its better with the lgihts on.
