Vagtacho 2.5

Just got my vagtacho cable to program new key
can connect but the read pin code is greyed out but program key is working?
Am i missing something?

Update!
Selected VDO new at first which connected
Then selected VDO old and it works! got pin code and all functions work.
Hope it works with the A6 when she gets home

took me a while to figure out which one for the seperate immo box

Having a bit of trouble with the A6
Can connect but having the same problem as before read pin greyed out?
tried various connections but not working?
I'm connecting to 4B0920981K kombi+wegfahrs. VDO D11
Ideas?
