Hey Guys, I am back after an Audi absense!

I was 1st on here about 7 years ago with my A4 avant.... had that 4 years. Loved it but it was on 170k miles and I wast confident towing heavy cars with it.....

So we bought a 2.7 v6 Allroad...... (that was an awesome car with the Recaro seats) I regret selling it, but the suspension pump was going and the springs were going and the economy was not good for me at the time.... 1000 miles a week!

    soooo...

Just got a bargain (hopefully) on a 2000 S4 Avant in silver with black leather.......... high miles, 100k.... but its mint apart from a few tired suspension bits...

    PLANS!

Exhaust (not sure, but it wont be Miltek)
Change the seats (not sure, unless I can find some Recaros)
    Tunes!
    Brakes, Carbon loraine Pads,
Suspsension.... not sure yet (its a family car)
Mapping! (I will be doing it at work)
Wheels (so there will be a good set of S4 alloys for sale soon)

thats it for now me thinks!

    Laters Guys

    Welcome back.

Not really sure i'd agree that a 10 year old car with 100k on the clock is "high miles", its probably below average. Plus mileage doesnt mean squat with these cars, if the 100k car has been neglected and a 190k model has been looked after, the 190k car could easily be the better car.

Good call on the exhaust, personally i'd find a good local fabricator and get them to make up a system, milltek are ripoff b*stards.

    Cheers Guys...

well spoken to a very good friend of mine who runs ProSpeed exhausts.

He is going to make me turbo back systems, twin downpipes into 1 3" all the way through....

could do a group buy with him if anyone is interested... he really is bloody good... used him for pretty much every exhaust I have bought...

    Well the car is excellent

Service histroy excellent (loads at QST, AMD, and Audi and had the LOT done at 73k)

Just had the wheels balanced as it was wobbling badly, they the very nice guys filled it with Nitrogen! (I know technically its wonderfull!!!! ;-)) STS Pro Tyre in Stevenage 24 for all 4 tires!

    It needs better front seats!!!

I cant stand the way you can feel the knock sensors pulling the power back under full load, so decent fuel and some mapping work will help that. (its a by product of doing it for a living!)

Bodywork is minty as is the interior... so totally delighted with that..

There is a knock from the back when you unload the power, looks like it may be the stabiliser bush that sticks out from the front of the diff.... (anyone seen or know much about these? or this problem:>????)

and again the wind noise from the doors is anoying as well (I cant remember what the known fix is for this)

Pics to follow, will get it in our workshop for some more detailed under pics etc..

single 3" is pretty much the stock system, i would want either twin 2.5" or a single 3.5"

suspension i would go with a decent spring and damper kit, unless you can afford a good quality coilover kit (Bilstien PSS9 or KW v3 etc)

not sure if Koni do a damper kit and some Eibach springs.

I can get KW at very good prices via work...

Koni do their SSK kit for the B5 Quattro, or you've got the bilstein B6 option.

personal preference would be bilstien B6 with Eibach ProKit... abit pricey for a spring and damper kit (you can get cheap coilover kits for the same sort of money), but you do get what you pay for.

Koni SSK's have adjustable dampers which is always a "nice to have"

Bilstein and Eibach is an expensive option, as you pay thru the nose when you buy all the bits individually compared to just buying a complete Bilstein B12 kit, or the Koni SSK.
