I've read several posts on here regarding this issue

I've found the previous owner has not cleared the water from around and under the battery compartment, you all know the results

The problem I have is that there's so much rust I cant see where the drain is suppose to be.

Does anyone have a rust free picture of the area so I have something to work with.

Do you think I'd get away with cleaning up the corroded area and, using fiberglass, seal the area from further damage creating a new channel to drain the water

rust?!

The shell is galvanised... it shouldnt be rusting!

Ours gets choked every 6 months or so, just need to clear the crap out and its fine. One drain is directly below the battery, the other behind the brake servo.

Thanks all

Will have a look in the morning

Got a feeling this rust may not be what it appears to be

Please don't mention dried leaves, doh

The battery tray has rusted on mine but not the actual chassis. In fact I left some bare metal exposed around the wings (headlight install) for around 6 months and there is no rust! God bless galvanised chassis.
