a4 steering going hard ???

rite iv got a 1997 1.8 non turbo a4 and every so offten the steering goes really hard as if the pump stops working

could the pump be on its way out or could it be the rack

Isn`t the pump driven off the front serpintine belt.. Maybe its slipping....

certainly is but its on an auto tensioner so should never be slack enough to slip
