T SPORT STALLING PROBLEM

Hi all,
Just popped over from the B6 side to ask some advice for my son
He has an 1998 1.8T Sport Auto and just recently it has just started to stall immediatelly after start up, not every time but now and again.
Any ideas what could cause this

Hello mate, there a literally 20+ threads about the illustrious stalling problem on this forum...Do a search and you will find a shed load! It could be a number of things, immob , TB , N80, wiring (Geemans recent prob), split breather pipes, clogged breather pipes etc etc etc...........

As stated above, do you have or know anyone with vag-com, also does the immob light come on after it stalls?

immo is the first thing to look at, it will usually mean the immo light flashes after it stalls though.

Wiring was a problem on mine. The immediate stalling happened on mine after I'd sorted the wiring out though... and it was the actual connectors themselves not having a good solid grab on the MAF terminals. Closed them up tighter and now it's fine.

He says the Immo light dosn't come on, he's going to clean maf etc check wiring and go from there,
its not done it since so will have to wait n see.
