New key/fob

Where can i get a new key cut if i buy a newfob with a blank key?
Is it an audi only job?

Thats a good start but i need a whole new unit
turns out my spare key with new car is wrong
thought i could get a key cut then get a new remote part but didnt know there was a chip in key part
can we program the key part ourselves? and then get remote from audi
I have a mate at Audi who can help me out but im pushing favours at the moment.
Need a key guide?

it can be done with vag tacho to pull skc and vag com to code it in
where abouts are you theres a few on here that would help out

im in cardiff, should have said its for an A6 02plate can it be done? i asked on here as the a4 guys seem to know more but dont let them know i said that. can the transponder be programmed or does that need to be replaced with a blank one?

not too clued up on a6 but transponders are only £2-5

update
i've been given a flip key but the remote is wrong part so will get another with the right code
but i can use the top key part and fit a new key in it
so if i get vag tacho can i program the transponder in they key part or will i have to get a blank one and replace?
