What usualy happens when the units start to go? My blower motor stopped tonight and started again when I gave the centre console a thump to the side of the control unit. Could it be on it's way?

TBH its more likely that the fan unit behind the glovebox is on the way, and the whack was enough to get it spinning again as the brushes tend to wear down.

I had thought about brushes. Seen a guy on eBay selling brushes for them. Don't have vag-com yet but can see me getting it soon so I can reset the service indicator. Last time it's was you aragorn that reset it when we found out you couldn't swap the ecu in my car with vag-com.
