Hi, new to the forums and audis /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif anyway,
I'm looking at a '96 A4 Quattro for $5,995 USD. It has 91k miles on it. I was wondering, what should i look out for (what's going to break/ wear out on me soon after i get it). Is this car worth purchasing or should i look for something else like a more recent year or lower miles??

There good cars but I would say try and get a 98 2.8 30v as it is a much better car, the pre 98 cars are 12v and produce 175 hp and the 30v 195 hp.

Always have the drive shafts checked, as this is an A4 problem full stop.

Check the Cam belt as been changed and also any oil leeks.

I'm sure there may be more but I'm not an expert in 12v.

yes i've been reading and the newer ones produce more power. but cost is more of a factor than power as this is a gift from my parents to me. I'm more worried about upkeep costs and what's going to start breaking (as it has 91k miles) and i want it to last me another 3-4 years at least
