I'll soon be getting my B5 1.8T remapped /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, and as it's done 68k I thought it would be a good idea to do the timing belt and tensioners beforehand.
What parts are needed to do the work, and how much should I be looking to pay for the whole job from a) A Stealers and b) An independant specialist?
Anything else I should think about servicing/replacing before I turn up the boost?
There's a place just 15 miles from me that use Revo software - JBS in Chesterfield who have got a good name for themselves, but Jabbasport has also been highly recommended. Only thing is, Jabbasport are down in Peterborough and I don't want a hundred-odd mile journey if something's not right after the remap.
My plan was: To go with JBS from start to finish - get the timing belt done, diagnostics, then finally remap. It would cost me much less in fuel and I could use them for future servicing/tuning, with the added advantage that they would know my car and be better equipped if I were to have problems post remap.
What are your thoughts on this?
Any advice highly appreciated.
Drew.
