Pre-facelift S4 Avant for £3k on eBay

ive not looked at ebay lately but there are some steals out there that really make mine look like less of a steal

That TQS sits a bit high, don't you think?

Quite local to me though... :icon_thumright:

Right interior and badges white dials too.
Dodgey cd install though.

I was/still am seriously tempted to get that s4 and sell my car but i should have my s4 bits soon so my car will pretty much be an s4 but with smaller brakes and engine and much cheaper to run.

It looks pretty clean anyway. If i sold mine i was going to advertise about £2900 as the mileage is high but in the last year its had timing belt, clutch and front arms. That s4 is only cheap if you are prepared to do the clutch, front arms and timing belt as chances are they will have seen better days. May be fine but you never know.

It does look cheap until you look into it a bit more, the milage is on the high side, also the fault with the abs as they say could be like opening a can of worms,as its sold as seen so no come back if that turns out to be more than a abs sensor, might need the cam belt doing as well soon as theres no mention of it being changed, its needs a new rear door as its been repaired and painted badly to say the least, you can see the catty bleed and sink marks and is covered in catty holes, the full side will have to be painted as theres some thing not right with that n/s/f wing, could be the indicator has popped out but it looks like the wings bent upwards,so there could be more damage behind to the wing rail, tailgate needs repairing, rear bumper needs painting, also that tax disc looks a bit suspect, could be the light but looks a odd colour, by the time youve got it all repaired and cam belt done you might have a heafty bill on that 3k

Or consider mine which I added last night on ebay although I think ive put it on for too strong money?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1999-AUDI-A4-...ewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item4a9cea6d71

If you read the advert, god I hope the mrs motor sells first then ive got 2 audi's which is what I wanted...............

it is on the high side but at the end of the day its worth as much as some one is willing to pay for one, if someone wants it bad enough they will pay the money to get one, as said they are become a bit rare, and it looks like a nice example and a nice colour to, you have no mention about the bose sound system??? also why havent you had the boot lid done under warrenty, i have mine booked in to get sorted in january, with new badges to mine has full service from audi bar the last stamp at 113000,which was an independent, audi cover there anti perforation warreny for 12 years, the garage is going to do my trim to, which is good of them

I went to audi about the boot on mine and got told not a chance. I dont see why when its obviously a design flaw. same as the door handles and the little black triangles on the rear doors.

not a chance why??? they must of give you a reason, i told them from the start, that the boot lid had never been painted so it is oem paint, that the fault stems from the trim vibrating against the paint work of the boot lid and causing both trim and boot to rust, he said to me due to the age of the car, which i cut the guy short and said age was irrelevent, as its still with in 12 years, which he agreed, took some photos, took a look at my service book, few days later got a phone call and was given the go ahead,

trim items are not covered under the same 12 year warrenty,as the paint on the body of the car, mine has bubbling on the rear window apertures to, i dont have any on the door handles as far as im aware, ill have to have a look

Said something about it being caused by the trim and not corroding from the inside out or something. I just fixed it myself in the end.

An S4 for £3k is a bargain, even taking into account getting it to spec, provided you are able to do it yourself

correct, provided you can DIY. at £3k you could almost justify being ripped off by a "specialist" and get the work done for you

mine cost me £4k (2000W estate, santorin blue, white leather, bose, two sets of wheels, 115k miles) front arms already done and ive sorted the boost leak and cambelt/waterpump and im still well under £4.5k and ive got a lovely car... now imagine doing that on a car that cost £1k less

only a window licking mentalist would go out spending £1k a pop at garages for work to be done in a £4k-£5k car, which i think really limits the market for the £3k S4.
