anyone know where abouts the slave cylinder actually is on this gearbox?

As you are looking at the front of the car, its slightly to the right on the top of the box. Behind a mass of pipes and crap on the S4 i imagine.

It is simple enough to bleed ,using gravity has always worked best for me

gonna put a load of ATE super blue in mine. ive got gay 18inch rs4 wheels so can easily bleed the brakes with the car on the ground with my pressure bleeder, but youre right... underneath its a mess of hoses, suprise suprise!

im praying to god that there is enough space to get access to it.

i bet its one of those things that never ever get changed

Watch out if using a pressure bleeder as the reservoirs can crack quite easily as they go brittle with age. I just had to buy a new one.

ouch.. i once had a drip of brake fluid flick into my eye before and that was seriously painful

ill give it a prod and a poke first to see if its likely to fall apart but brake fluid flying everywhere is a scary thought!
