When cleaning out my air box I noticed there are two round plastic bars under the filter that run across the box from each side to side. These clip in and out of place in the bottom of the box. Does anyone know what they are there for? I can't see the point of them. Don't know if I should bother putting them back into place

I have the 2.8. Had the same things in mine. Binned them after dropping a k&n panel filter in and drilled the airbox. No harm if you don't put them back in.
