just found a screw 1 inch from the side wall in my almost new F1's!!
pain in the *** as they cost me £100 each and the tyre monkey says he can't plu it to repair them.
£25 and a 10 day turn around to get them done by a vulcaniser repair guy (no not star trek!!)
still doesn't help me ....

I have 245/40/18's all round

I also have two spare 235/40/18 (total diameter is 1.23% out).
am I asking for trouble running them temporarily whilst my tyre is being fixed?

anyone run similar differences?

if you werent doing loads of miles i would think it would be ok. no lsd anyway.

Give me your brakes and you can use my spare 17s?

Sounds like a plan to me!

I would just run the 1% difference you have. If it only a couple of weeks I am sure it will be fine.

that is what I was thinking...

If you calculate the diameter of both, you'll probably find the difference is similar to the difference between a new 235/40 and a nearly bald 235/40.

probably.
my worry is I will be nearly new 245 on the rear and part worn 235 on the front.
likely to be closer to 2+% difference if I really think about it

just pump the 235's up to 80psi and put the 245 to 25psi. that should even it out.
