9 years! thats a bit of a tug on the heart strings...hope the RS4 brings a smile to your face.

Not bad. Nine year's is along time to own a car well done, and good luck with the next.

was mate no joke sort of became a member of the family was hard to let her go, was a good car allround did cost a few quid to buy thoe back then .. and i have had to throw a few quid to keep her right and to improve

was a overall a good audi and good ownership

on to the next audi

RS4 though........definitely an instant cure for the void that its left....nice one!

9 years is a seeeeeeriously long time!!!

This Audi is the longest I've ever owned a car (3 years and 4 months),.........2 years is my usual limit.

WOW I was gutted when i parted with mine at 5 and a bit years, still am.I Keep hoping one day i can buy her back...

Bad times - sold a car you love.

Good times - replacing it with an RS4! Result.

Good luck on the viewing mate. Mind get sum pics up if all goes well.

cheers mate ,just hope ive made the right move as my 2.8 was perfect id done it all ,just needed more poke..ive had a pal take a look round the rs its 200miles from me but report from my pal was good so going to make the trip tues i think ..still not sure what colour to go for i allways wanted the avus when they first came about but thinking the red looks cool and yellow is flash nice one on autotrader ive been looking at ...

any ideas on what colour to go for ???

colour is a personal choice, i would always want a noggy one first, then black, red, avus, green, yellow would also be fine but always stands out to attention which is not always welcomed!

denim blue is also rare so that would be nice too

main thing is to get a car that is mechanically sound - massive thing to get right with the RS4

Make sure you get an inspection !

there could be some nasty surprises with RS4's especially cams!

yes mate hear what your saying , car iam seeing tues has just been health checked a month ago at mrc and has 4-5k of bills for last year lots been replaced ...it has got near 90k on the clock and has had 7 previous owners thoe ? at about 15k.. or been looking at 20k cars with 60k on the clock with only 2 owners but not as spec,d up as the higher milage cars and not so many bills as to replacment parts,,,

so do i buy a higher milage car better spec ,power, and lots of bills to say many parts changed and 4-5k in the pocket for spares? or a car with lower milage and power, costs more and may need parts replaced soon ?

the higher mileage car with all the work imo

7 owners is a lot, I have had similar thoughts on cars like this - no -one wants a lemon but the proof of work and history @ a true specialist has got to be better overall

Colourwise for me, I'd go red or blue.

Spec wise, I think a slightly higher mileage with better mods, and bills to prove genuine mods and repairs etc is the better choice. Lower mileage can mean more problems yet to come, as certain main components wear after certain mileages on all cars.:icon_thumright:

9 years is good going mate :icon_thumright:

Enjoy your RS4 (I'm sure it goes without saying) :hubbahubba:

picked up my rs4 yestarday after test driving 3 cars from 20k- 15 went for the cheapest as seemed the best did have most miles and most owners but was the best i see was also the tightest as regards to feel needs some tlc in some areas but cant wait for the week end to start ,was a good 300 mile drive home what a machine will get some pics up soon 450 bhp feels good:yahoo:

wow 450 horses!!!!! get them pics up asap

I don't think I could trust myself with 450hp, on a day to day basis....

I got a 90 euro fine in France for speeding in a car with 82hp!

Congrats, mate. I have more than a slight pang of jealousy.

it is hard to keep to the speed limts for sure ,reminds me of bikes i used to ride R1,ZX12R,GSXR (misses wont let me anymore) i found myself last night overtaking 3-4 cars in a line on the aroads in cornwall at 60mph in 3-4 seconds safely then back in to right lane, where i wouldnt have tried in the 2,8q i had and it was around 240-250bhp!

LOVIN THE RS

What had you done to the 2.8q to get that sort of power? +50HP on an N/A engine is very impressive.

had a custom chip, custom twin exhaust system all the way through (not single as all are with a twin back box) and highflow sports cats ,racing plugs ,flowed modded maf, and throttle body flowed and matched flowed inlet ports ,and high flow filter

maybe not 50 never did dyno as not a 4x4 one near me ,more i think like 40 but was fast as did race standard s4,s and was near same and a lot quicker than 2.8q around here near me!

i like to get to 500 but will cost ££££ thinking of bigger coolers and rs6 turbos and flowed custom manifolds and flowed head with bigger valves ,but to be honest ill live with 450 for now ,i no i can improve airflow on inlet side remove any sharp corners (airbox, maf ,and pipes and interconnects)with ade from my trusted freind dremmel and some henry paper this weekend for a little bhp but it all adds up in the end

Didn't know Cornwall had any roads like that! A38 near Bodmin?!

YES MATE GOOD ROAD THAT

A39 IS BETTER THOE has got to be one of the best roads in england and i been about . also a bonus i get to drive it daliy 1 of the reasons i moved from london 7 years ago here used to love visting family in cornwall!

real driving roads down here, all like rally sections ,fantastic on a super bike (or audi) sadly a lot die down here on bikes as well, some times 1 a week in the summer! hence why my misses wont let me on a bike anymore !

Yeah, I know Cornwall pretty well. All the best driving roads seemed to be in the North of the county, Tintagel, Polzeath, Rock direction.

Gets a bit busy around the Looe/ Mevagissey areas my family tend to head to.....

Actually, come to think of it, 450hp is bound to be a damn sight safer than 240 on an overtake manoeuver!

i looked at a yellow rs only 2 owners and 60,000 miles from new fella said was 470 bhp and was best ill see he said "mint" on phone and in advert in trader and pistonheads was near 20k (was worst i see as to interior realy scruffy needed door handles passenger seat had dog claw marks all over and dirty and i mean DIRTY and slow compaired to the car i bought must have had probs but realy dont think owner new ) so ended up with a car with 7 previous owners but was best car and cheapest i could find "pays to see 3-4 cars at least". "as price and least owners and low miles dont mean your going to get a good car."

Welcome to the club Simon.
I upgraded from an A4 1.8tqs, RS4s take you into a different league - it feels fantastic knowing there's very little on the road that can keep up :)
The best bit for me is seeing the look on biker's faces when some old Audi estate is keeping with them away from the lights!
