Hi guys,

Long time luker, not very post heavy, but hoping some of you can help.
The time has come to swap the wifes car - I've been offered a deal on a brand spanking A3 sportback 1.9tdie sport that's so good I can't resist.

So, on that basis I need to shift her A4 but have no idea as to it's value and was hoping some of you with good s/h value knowledge could give me some pointers.

The car is a 2001 (Y) avant, 1.8t sport with factory fit Votex bodykit and 17" wheel upgrade.

In metallic black with cream leather. Other than that its standard spec.
Just under 70k miles with full history (main dealer up until 2 years ago).

Wheels are looking tatty now (not kerbed, just starting to bubble) so I'll have them all fully refurbed (properly, taken back to bare metal etc) prior to sale.

The car will also be given an oil & filter service and a new set of front brake pads to ensure the new owner has no money to spend on it.

Car will be Zymol-valeted prior to sale so looking immaculate.
No dents, scrapes etc. Non-molested nice genuine example - it goes well, doesn't smoke, doesn't use any oil or water - if it weren't for the good deal I'm getting she'd gladly plod on in it for years to come.

Any suggestions as to its value greatfully received. Thanks in advance,

Simon

That is really nice!

If I were in the market for a replacement, Id be happy to part with an easy £2.5k for that.

ya looks a very nice example

Hi Mate,
If you do decide to sell please send me a PM as its looking very likely that my B5 is going to be written off after it was in an accident on Saturday :bye:

Yours looks like just the ticket

i will be worth more if you swap your white interior for my black one....

I quite LIKE the contrasting interior.

Black in black can be a bit much IMO. That second part sounds pornographic............

Dan... I think he was kidding.

To get an interior like that in mine, I'd donate an arm... lol

Hi mate,

PM sent

Sorry to hijack this thread but I didn't want to start another one just for my question...

Could anyone give me some guidance on how much I should ask for my 1998 A4 Avant 1.8T Sport?

Spec etc;
90,000 miles
Full service history (mostly main dealer, then specialists)
Timing belt etc done, recent brakes, recent suspension work
Superchipped
Mechanically solid
Externally a bit scruffy - couple of parking dents and rust bubbles on front wheelarches
Interior in good condition

Any help is much appreciated!
Cheers.

Please? Anyone?
I was thinking somewhere between £1,200 and £1,600?
Got someone viewing it in an hour and don't want to ask too much / too little for it!
If I could keep it I would.
More things I missed;
MOT 'til April
Taxed 'til 31.01.10
Most recent service was done with MOT in April.

As i guide i paid £1200 two years ago for a '96 car very similar to yours even down to the color.

Ours had 150k on it at the time, and the usual corresponding wear to the drivers seat etc. No chip, but it did have a scraped wing and broken indicator.

I recon £1200 must be about the minimum its worth?

Thanks for your opinion mate:icon_thumright:

I bought it 2.5 years ago with 76k for £3,200 - probably paid a bit much but there aren't many 1.8T Sports for sale up here at any given time.
As soon as I got it I had a very thorough service, cambelt, brakes etc done at local Audi specialist which set me back £1500!
Then I had it serviced, suspension parts etc by a Bosch specialist in April and that set me back another £700. And the Superchip was £480 I think...

I just wish I'd known about the Audi 12 year corrosion warranty - could've got the wings done!

I'll be sorry to see her go to be honest. Got an S3 for the daily drive now but I wish I could keep the A4 for the missus - she's not starting driving lessons 'til the spring so i'm not paying tax, insurance etc while it just sits on the drive.
I know when the missus passes her test and i'm looking for a car for her i'll be gutted I sold this one!

If its sat on your drive it doesn't need tax or insurance....

Sorn it and cancel the insurance policy and it can sit there quite happily until your missus is ready to go!

True true... hmm...

Will see if this guy who's viewing it in 15 minutes makes a decent offer. If not, might keep her for later. The missus does love this car.
