    Moisture in o/s headlight

    Hi guys.

I washed my car on Saturday, no different to how i usually would. I went out in the evening, and noticed that the O/S headlight was fogged up on the inside. It keeps clearing and re appearing now. Any idea's on how i can clear it. I have looked, and there is no obvious way any moisture would get in! =S I have facelift headlights if this helps.

    Thanks

How are you washing you car? is it with a pressure washer? may have a small crack/hole somewhere, they are quite easy to remove to inspect further

The lamps are actually open to atmosphere.

Theres a little vent thing underneath, so they can fog up from time to time.

Audi will usually tell you to sit with the main beam on for 10 mins to dry them out.

aye, maybe even a hose would do it.

Ours sometimes fogs up in heavy rain.

Is that why you set fire to it, to dry the headlight out, a bit extreme, hey !!

When I first got stinky and she had the bosch pre facelifts they were a mess. Really dull and starting to go green. After a bit of examining I found out that the glass can come off the older unit and be cleaned. There's a rubber seal around the lens (carefull, one of mine almost broke) and lens just comes straight off. After a good clean they were excellent... This may allow you to get in and see if there's any water trapped or if the breather hole has become a bit bunged up.

i had this problem on my car so i removed the black plastic cover on the back and left it to dry out for a few days then i ran a bead of silicon sealant inside the covers seal and put it back this was 3 months ago and it as not happened since its worth a try

Not without a lot of effort with heat guns, screwdrivers and pliers.
