found a rip in my f hose, fixed it using 1/2" copper t-peice and hose till i get it from audi.:icon_thumright:.

was wondering what it is for, couldnt really think nor follow the hoses.

Boost pressure I think mate, had mine replaced a few weeks ago after VAG threw me an error for boost pressure, all sorted now!:s4addict:

yes but what does it do/ where does it go. if its for boost why is there oil in it, is it a breather or somthing?

ye its part of the breather/vacuum system.

Personally i'd leave the copper T in there. At least its not going to split!

its connected to the inlet manifold and the breather system, and has another line that goes somewhere else i cant quite work out from the diagram.

Basically the best approach is to remove it, fit the RS4 hose in place of it at the front of the engine and reroute the connection to the spider hose onto the takeoff for the N249. If you delete the N249 too it makes things even simpler.

S4's have electronic dump valve control.

Instead of the DV's just being attached to the inlet, there is a vacuum canister in the arch, with the N249 sat between in and the DV's. If the ECU wants to dump boost, it opens the N249 and the DV's open.

Supposed to make the car drive much nicer without that guff in the way though.
