spark plug gap

This may have been asked before but what is the ideal spark plug gap for a 1.8 tqs AJL 180bhp. The manual says 0.8mm but when serviced it has had 0.7mm fitted.

Not chipped yet. N75K Valve and 710N DV. Standard airbox and filter. Spark plugs fitted at service NGK PFR6Q with 0.7mm gap. Also have some Autolite APP 3923 which are in good condition, gapped at 0.8mm.

the figure i see used a lot is 0.028", which is just over 0.7mm.

If chipped 0.7mm if not 0.8mm is fine

Had a look at the Autolite application list, http://www.autolite.com/pdf/auto_passcar1_0406.pdf

Have removed the NGK plugs that were fitted at the service and have fitted the Autolite APP 3923 with a 0.032in gap (0.8mm).
