A4 quattro water leak

Hi Guys, I have an A4 2,8 quattro which has a small water leak. This small dripping is from the left side of the front of the gearbox/bell housing. It looks like it coming from somewhere at the back of the engine - front of gearbox. But you can not see where as it is coming from as its coming from between the heat sheild and transmission tunnel. Does anyone know what this could be.

The scuttle panel drains will dump water over/around that area i think?

Or it's from the aircon drain and perfectly normal

Thanks guys, but it is coolant water, I have tasted it, also the Radiator expansion tank drops from the max level to the min level in about 200 miles or less.

chekc the flange on the back of the cylinder head then, where the black water gallery connects to.

Thanks, Further to my questions above, I now think think the water leak is coming from somewhere in the Vee part of the engine - cylinder heads meet block area. How difficult is it to remove the inlet manifold etc on a 2,8 V6 to have a good look around. Do the injectors have to be removed. Are there any DO Nots I should know about before having a go?
