Door chime not shutting off

I have a 01 A4 turbo and just recently on really hot days I will close my drivers door and i know that it is shut but on my trip computer it is reading that the door is still open. It stays like this until it cools down and reopen and clos the door again . Anybody know what the problem is?

Expansion of the door switch in the heat. I've had it on my A3 and A4. There are plenty of threads about it on the A3 Forum, do a search.

But I think it all cames down to having a new switch fitted, which is not straight forward.

my door lock is doing the same and it will go into the stealers for fixing very soon /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Mine has been telling me my door is open when its not on hot days and took it the dealer on Friday and they are changing the whole door lock mechanism as it has a built in micro switch that is not servicable..........thank god its done under warranty!
