i have a power problem with my 2000 1.8t and hope someone can shed some light on it.
it is lumpy at idle , it's holding back on aceleration and is jerky when i come off the throttle it seems to speed up as i lessen the throttle opening.
i have it booked in for a fault code test on tuesday with a local audi specialist ,is this likley to pick up a maf sensor fault or am i wasting £40.
typicaly the car is for sale at the moment and i dont want to put off potenial buyers i need to get it sorted asap.if anyone can confirm the maf sensor is at fault i may just go buy one and cancel the diagnostics appointment.

any help would be great

thanks

im in essex...think that might be a bit of a trek.
but thanks for the offer

any modifications? changes to filter?

Thanks guys will try that but also noticed now that on occasions the brakes are hard to push as if the servo wasn ot working properly. This is an intermittant fault just wonder if it is related

Try checking your vacuum hoses on the inlet manifold etc., you may have a leak somewhere...
