Hi Guys,

I recently bought a 97 A4 1.8 which came with 1 key. It has central locking and as far as i am aware, remote central locking (The sensors are visible inside). How can i tell if it is remote central locking? If it is, would a three button switchblade remote operate it? Also does anyone know how to program the remote?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Doubt it, the sensors you can see are probably part of the alarm. The remote locking aerial is hidden.
My 97 A4 didn't have remote, but as I had to upgrade to a Thatcham approved system anyway to get insured I just use the Sigma remote which does both.

Dont know what the black lump is but I know that on the old Ford Scorpios they had what looked like a dark purple boiled sweet on the dash and that was the remote sensor!

It is for the climate control. some cars have it and some don't. it allows the climate control to adjust to hot weather, i.e. sunlight.
