cold air intake question

so my friend ordered a cold air intake for his new 1.8T.
the people messed the order up and sent him a cold air intake for the b5 chassis 1.8T
they wont give him his money back so instead of throwing it away he gave it to me.
i have a 97 a4 2.8, how different is the setup for this intake for a 2.8 and 1.8T??
will it fit/work on my car??

I would check out the make and model and see if they do one for your car and then see what the difference is other than that there no harm trying.
