Fault with new car

ICONS ON THE CENTRAL DISPLAY BETWEEN THE CLOCKS STARTED FLASHING INTERMITTANTLY AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT CAN TAKE 20 OR 30 SECONDS TO ENGAGE REVERSE FULLY..

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS A FAULT WITH THE GEARBOX ECU.
can you let me know what you think.
i might buy it if its cheap enough to fix

it basically indicates a fault with the autobox. It could be a dodgy selector (ie the stick) a dodgy ECU or a dodgy box itself.

Vagcom scan might tell you more.
