    MX5

My girlfriend is picking up an MX5 tomorrow. Is it wrong for me to be excited?

Not at all mate they are superb fun little cars. As a bloke you should never own one but if it's the missus' then that's fine and there is nothing stop you borrowing it. A nice fresh Spring morning and a quiet B road with the hood down and they are awesome fun

    Yeah.. that's the plan lol.

It's the 1.8 too so should be a good drive. 2002 in mint condition with only 40000 miles on it.

They are unquestionably gay, but supposed to be fantastic cars to drive. I know someone with a supercharged MX5 and it's dished out it's fair share of surprised looks on the country roads around Wrexham!

I met a guy once who had a supercharged one which was slammed. I thought it was a cool little car.

Have seen a few smart pics of them on the net.

could always yank out the silly 1.8 and replace it with a nice Vag 1.8T...

Seem to do that a lot on elises and things...

Finding a suitable rear wheel drive transmission might be an issue, but i've seen adaptors around for a few boxes.

I don't think she'd be too pleased with me ripping the engine out of her new car lol.. Could sneak a turbo in there though ha.

Not had a drive yet.. been out in it as a passenger though a few times.
My girlfriend absolutely loves it.. loves the fact that there's hardly any body roll though even the sharpest corners and the fact that it's twice as fast as her old Clio 1.2!

Funny how I always got a telling off for traffic light drag race antics but all of a sudden it's become acceptable lol.

I'll hopefully get a drive soon.

LOL I had a supercharged MX5 Mk2 about 8 years ago - loved it so nice to drive one of the few cars left with good steering feel (that dont cost a whle lot of money). It could certainly suprise a few people in it, < 1000kg and 200 ish bhp = lots of smiles !
Yes I probably looked gay in it and had all the cracks about hairdressers cars, but got a fair few phone numbers from young ladies in it. Not sure if they where after a free hair do or not !!

Yeah.. either way a phone numbers better than no phone number lol.
Funny how certain cars are more attractive to different genders.

I would like a go in a supercharged/turbo'd MX5.. might be tempted to get one myself if it was a black hardtop (and I'd taken up hairdressing lol).
