Auto gearbox new oil or not ?

The 2.6 SE Auto I purchased recently has covered 77k miles and I'm not sure if the auto gearbox oil has ever been changed. The garage I bought the car from said not to change it as it can cause more harm than good and as the gearbox seems to be changing ok then to leave it alone. However I've heard conflicting information from other sources that say if Im not sure if the oil has ever been changed then it would be a good idea to get it done. What are your opinions ?

i cant see new oil breaking the box tbh, if anything old oil could damage it, regardless of what Audi say (these things are often 'sealed for life').

Just need to ensure to get the correct oil, as putting the wrong stuff in could certainly break it.
