fit our longitudinal engines? It's from a Golf or A3 etc. Is it required if upgrading to a K04? /potential stupid question

no i think it positions the turbo too far back, or possibly even has the turbine housing integrated into it...
The K03 and K04 exhaust flange is the same, so fitting a K04 to your 1.8T doesnt require a new manifold at all, it does require a K04 designed specifically for the longitudinal engine though. (k04-015)
