S4 Turbos

Can anyone out there put my mind at rest? I have recently purchased a 11/1999 S4. I've heard people saying that the turbos are weak and will fail at some point most times before 100k. The car has full main dealer history and has been maintained to the highest standard. The milage is currently 75000. As long as the car gets well looked after surely the turbos will live long? Thanks for your time.

You might want to read this post on vwvortex. It started out about an A6, but the thread was diverted onto the subject of the 2.7 twin turbos. The comments are well worth noting. Be aware that the user "duandcc" is a very pessimistic individual, but he was challenged by others in the post anyway.
