    Fan-tastic timing *update

My heater fan has been a bit iffy for a while making a clicking sound when going. This morning with an iced up car it decided to pack up. When it did decide to blow it sounded sick and had no power to the blow.

How much and where to get a new one? Car is a 96 with climate if it makes any difference.

supposedly its quite simple. Glove box out, a few nuts and swap it over.

It's the easiest job in the world (on an Audi), takes 10 minutes. The blower is right in front of you with the glovebox out, but there is a bracket above you need to remove in order to give you enough space to wiggle it out. Very obvious once you're in front of it.

Would say I would go outside now but unfortunately 2 things mean I won't.

    1. It's cold
    2. I'm going to the pub

    Sorted.

Really no need for any pictures as it took longer to make my coffee than it did to change the motor.

Undo 5 8mm bolts that secure the glovebox 2 either side and one in the centre to by the locking tab.

Drop the glovebox down (minding the 2 wires for the glovebox light)

Ease off the 2 wires from the motor at the back left of the glovebox cavity.
Undo the 5 retaining screws and ease the motor out.

As Mr Haynes would say refitting is the revers of removal.

My blowers now work, don't smell and actuall blow air when turned up.
