might seem like a rather daft question as i have no idea how a paddle shift system works but is it possible to have it on our cars?

with enough technical knowledge it may be possible to build a replacement controller for an autobox and use that to do manual shifts.
Quite a few of the well known yank autoboxes have this kinda kit available off the shelf but for a box like the audi one i'd think it'd be prohibitively expensive unless you could do the electronic development work yourself.
