steering racks & dampers

Does anybody know if the S4 rack is quicker lock to lock than my normal A4 T Sport one?

If it is, is it a straight swap?

Also when I took my shock off at the weekend I found under the grime it was dark blue. Does this mean I have the sport kit or standard? Want to lower the car and if it's lower as standard I will need to allow for it.

afaik the Sport, S4 and RS4 racks are the same

As for the dampers, my 96 1.8TS has blue fronts and black rears, from what i can gather, early cars had blue shocks for sport and later cars (perhaps >97) got reddy purple colored shocks for sport models.

Non-sport models got black shocks. I presume that someones changed out our rear shocks at some point for some craptacular aftermarket ones, hence them being black.
