17inch oem alloys on a4 pic request

Hi, I'm in two minds as to whether to refurb the ronal wheels on my a4 QTS or replace them with new alloys, while adding new tyres all round. I don't want to spend silly money, it's a daily driver and I don't want to change the suspension so was thinking of keeping to 17s.

Does anyone have pics of 17inch RS6 style 5 spokes
or the genuine audi sport 5 spokes found on b6 a4's on actual cars?

Any pics of other oem style alloys on an a4 would be appreciated, but they must be 17inch. Many thanks.

PS still not resolved my problem with the heated rear window causing radio interference incase anyone has any ideas... Cheers in advance.

17's are too small for the B5, 18's run fine on the stock suspension. Depending on the style of alloy you'll find most of them will actually look smaller than your stock wheels.

My 17's never really looked right. Should have gone to 18's the first time around.

Pic of my old avant on 17's believe it or not lowered 30mm

Thanks for the pics so far.

I like the s4 wheels, i know they aren't to everyones liking but they are a bit different and special to those in the know. I like the matching s4 grill too.

Joost - would like to see more pics of your oem stars on your car. These wheels seem readily available but not seen them on an actual b5 yet.

Does anyone have pics of rs6 style 5 spokes in 17 inch on a b5?

Oranoco - see what u mean, they look almost smaller than 17s. The 17inch ronals with standard sports suspension look far lower on mine at the moment.

They look great, oem, nothing too flash. Have you changed from 235 to 225/45/17 then?

Are either of your cars lowered or on standard sports suspension?

Any rubbing issues? I believe they are 45 offset rather than standard 35, this make much difference?

Mine's still on the 235s, lowered 45mm. No rubbing issues on mine. Yet. Should be home tomorrow so I'll have a gander and see if I've got any more pics. If not, I'll take some!

cheers, nothing to flash is the look i was going for
bought avant with the wheels and 235/45's on it, but when i lowered it (40mm springs) front tyres hit hub carrier upright, so had to wait till i got some spacers to drive it! then changed to 215/45 tyres, saloon wheels came of an a6 (290 set of 5, ebay) and had big comfy tyres on but wouldnt clear rear quattro set up, so changed them again to 215's, reckon 225's would be ok though
235' tyres wouldnt fit in spare wheel well either
no rubbing issues with either car, but avant did look better with spacers pushing wheels out a bit, but i removed them because i thought they were causing vibration, but turned out to be worn out suspension arms

my nothing too flash comment was a compliment, hope it sounded that way. I'm after an oem+ look on a realistic budget and the stars seem to fit the bill.

Although I like the idea of 18s, some cars look awful with them - none on this thread. There is an a4 near me on 18s that look like it is on stilts as the style of the wheel gives the illusion it is even higher than it is.

    New alloys, what a minefield!

Joost - any extra pics would be much appreciated. No rush though.

Does anyone know for definite if 225s will fit on a quattro with these wheels, would prefer the extra width and protection they offer over 215s. Plus then I can keep my new spare tyre.

Also if I wre to go for s4 alloys, will they bolt on no problem? What tyres will they need?

Just to confirm my S4 alloys just bolted no problem and it has 225/45/ZR17 tyres. The car has been lowered by 35mm.

Do the s4 alloys have the same 35et offset as my current QTS alloys?

I'm no expert on wheel off sets but I obviously dont want rubbing and more importantly (!) want to fill the arches as much as my current wheels. I dont really want to use spacers.

Are the genuine s4 alloys ok in this respect, clear everything and fill the arches with no help from spacers?

I sold my old S4 wheels to Frazered and he fitted them to his A4 without spacers IIRC.

Great looking wheels, and if you get a 2nd hand set, chances are they will already have decent tyres on them.

Yes they are geniune i havent used spacers no rubbing on mine i think it fills the arches quite well, not to sure about the offset of yours, if you have these wheels then i think it will be ok

yeah they are the alloys I have. 7-5x17 with 225/45 tyres.

If S4 alloys filled the arches in a similar way I'd be happy with that.

I take it that the star alloys from a b6 would be more 'in the wheel arch', hence why some people use spacers?
