I've noticed this happening for the last couple of weeks. When I start my car, a lot of white smoke comes out my exhaust. After about 15 seconds, it's all cleared up and there's no smoke while driving. Anyone know what may be wrong?
problem may be caused by the catalytic converter. Check your coolant, if you arel loosing coolant, you may have a cracked cylinder head or your head gasket may be leaking.
Quoted by a repair guy "White smoke is almost always caused by the engine burning oil. An engine cannot burn antifreeze. It will either mix with the oil or go out the exhaust pipe but not burn. Keep an eye on your level. If it is "billowing" smoke it will probably require more oil every few hundred miles. There are many things that could cause oil burning. Bad rings, head gaskets, valve seals, bearings, cracked block. Major repairs are usually the answer. "
