S4 Towbar Avant & Saloon

Will a towbar from a 2000 saloon fit my avant?

Towequipe seem to list some specific towbars for the Avant and some that seem to fit either.

Anyone know?

i'd have thaught the rear end of the chassis would be a bit different to accommodate the avants longer tail, perhaps the ones that seem to fit either mount to different places than the ones that are specific to each model or perhaps contain adaptors/brackets to fit both cars?

Didn't think the Avant was any longer than the saloon to be honest.

ditto, both bolt into the rear chassis rails, only difference may be the actual bar assembly itself

I fitted a Genuine accessory towbar to my Avant some while back and is detailed here....

The part number was 8D5 092 155B and was described in the fitting instructions as being for the B5 Limousine and Avant.

Major thread revival!!! I've just fitted a saloon tow bar to my avant now the issue I'm having is I can't get the bumper to secure to the tow bar bracket. Has any one come across this before?

right Ive been having a look on line and even on eBay at towabars to work out what the hell is going on...
so ive spotted Nessy's guide and was having a look at his pictures.
so heres one of his pictures my tow bar and everyone ive looked at on eBay doesn't have these extra brackets

heres one on eBay it doesnt have the brakets either nor the other 5 or so ive looked at.
any body got any ideas?
