I'm off to the Nurburgring later this month.
And am beginning the preparations for driving on the continent.

One thing I really don't want to do is to use those horrible nasty stickers that dim your headlights right down, and leave residue over the lenses forever.

Is there any way to adjust the headlights using VAG-COM as I've read on here for newer cars? Or something I can adjust on the light unit itself.

I've heard mixed and varied rumours of both working on the B5. But I've not had chance to look. And not wanted to start poking around without knowing quite where I'm needing to look, or wether it's a fruitless search.

Car's a B5 S4 Avant. Pre facelift. And has Xenons with auto headlight leveling.

TIA.

if it has projectors there is a little lever on the side of the projector housing that alters the beam cutoff pattern for driving on the other side of the road.

Yeah I second that, its a silver lever towards the bottom of the headlight inside of course.

The newer cars have the adaptive systems/motors that can be set left/right/up/down via 5052/vagcom as thats what the headlights need for different countries, but adaptive wasnt on the B5 at all, self levelling for up/down wont help sorry, its a manual thing via the lever & maybe even with the sticky things that are admittedly crappy but work.

When i went to Le Mans the other week i didn't bother. Didn't bother with a GB sticker either.

Don't think anyone made any headlight adjustments or used GB stickers either by the look of it.
