I have my cylinder head in bits and was wondering about the hydraulic followers, a couple of them can pushed be in at the bootom like a spongey effect but the others are solid? how do i test them or bleed them up?

best thing to do is drain them all by clamping them in a vice slowly. this will force all the old oil out. When you then re assemble with clean oil it will refill them with that. Be aware it will rattle like a bitch for up to half hour or more on tick over, you then give it a good rev or take it for a pootle, they will soon refill/bleed
