Oil gundge around timing cover

Is this fairly normal? I am concerned about it but dont think I should be, just not noticed it on any other cars. Its not fresh oil, just oil gundgy stuff around where the cover meets the block and there is a metal plate bolted above the turbo which seems to have this gundge on it too, I cant take pics as my cable is at work

Probably seeping from the valve cover gasket down onto the heatshield

most rubber gaskets fail after some time i would pick up a new one but make sure you get the four rings as well for the spark plug holes

Thanks, ill mention it today as its booked in, its only done 60K though so not sure why it would go so soon

Was told there is nothing wrong with it today!! I was also told the engine is fantastic condition for its age so I am very pleased with that
