After getting some help fromI have just bought an Audi S4 B5 1999.5.
After some initial issues getting the VAG COM cable to work I now have some errors I need some help with.

Im assuming its something to do with my O2 Lamda sensor.

EGT sensors on the exhausts, common failiure so i am led to believe

Not cheap to fix, but it will be running good once you've sorted them!

Vagparts do em for a reasonable price, but still around the £140 mark, each. Drivers side is easy to fit, can do it from the top of the engine bay, EGT1. The passenger side however, EGT2, is more of a pain in the ****, really need it on a 2 poster or summit similar for this as you need to get it from under the car, but it's buried a fair way in.

However it may be worth clearing the codes and running the car for a bit, just to make sure they're not old codes and the work's been done.
Although if they are knackered it'll be like driving a new car once you've fitted em!

cool, thanks for your replies guys. i shall get the pennies together and replace them myslef, my mate works at the local garage so getting underneath it will be no problem..Will let you know how i get on!

ordered the part today from VAG Parts. £112 each - not bad compared to stearler who wanted £169 each! also bought 2 Bosch 710N DV's. These seemed to be a common DV to use other than a forge or Bailey...I will run with them and see if i want to fork out the extra for some shiny ones!
